With the increasing interest in alternative fuel vehicles, a small industry of conversion kits, often sold over the Internet, has sprung up in recent years. These kits seem like an easy answer to converting a conventional vehicle to an alternative fuel – however this is sometimes deceiving.

Recently, MotorWeek released a video about the necessary safety practices and components that would be involved in a conversion to a flex fuel vehicle, which are designed to run on gasoline or gasoline-ethanol blends of up to 85% ethanol (E85).

While we work together to reduce emissions and lessen our dependence on foreign oil, remember to use properly educated, experienced technicians to service and maintain your vehicles.
