Located in Tyler, TX the Tyler Junior College has been providing its vibrant student body with a quality education since 1926. The program offers in-depth training and courses on the latest automotive technologies in order to land students jobs and make students more employable by upgrading their skills for the vehicles that manufacturers are bringing to markets their skills.
Tyler Junior College prides itself in weaving learning and service to the community. This month the college will hold an open house where they will be showing off their new 2013 Chevrolet Volt and a 2012 Nissan Leaf. The purpose of this open house is to demonstrate to the local community the availability and viability of alternative fuel vehicles, and their environmental, health, and energy security benefits.
Tyler Junior College has been an NAFTC National Training Center member since 2008 and is one of nearly 50 National and Associate Training Centers across the U.S. who utilize the award winning, state-of-the-art NAFTC curricula and training in their classrooms.
As an NAFTC consortium member, Tyler Junior College automotive instructors have access to train-the-trainer classes and professional development training on numerous alternative fuel vehicle topics. This training allows the school to continue its specialized automotive training program for electric drive and natural gas vehicles, as well as the opportunity to expand into other alternative fuels.
