The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, a program of West Virginia University, won three MarCom Awards in the 2015 international awards competition – one platinum, one gold, and one honorable mention, bringing the NAFTC’s total MarCom Awards to nine, in their three-year winning streak.

MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

“We are always honored to be included on the MarCom Awards list. Our talented team works extremely hard to develop exceptional marketing and communication products. Receiving awards such as MarCom for those efforts is true validation of the effort and talent of the team we have,” said Judy Moore, NAFTC assistant director – communications and outreach.

The 2014 National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey won the MarCom Platinum award. Odyssey is a biennial outreach and education event established in 2002 by the NAFTC to promote the use of, and educate the public on, alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles. The 2014 event included more than 100 sites across the United States, plus two international events in Canada, and South Africa.

A Gold MarCom Award was won for the 2014 National AFV Day Odyssey Executive Summary. The executive summary synthesizes the results of the Odyssey event.

And, the NAFTC Who/What/Why Brochure won the MarCom Honorable Mention. The brochure serves as an introduction to the NAFTC, is courses and workshops, and other services.

MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand creative professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets the standards for excellence.

MarCom entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition has grown to perhaps the largest of its kind in the world. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individuals to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. The competition is so well thought of in the industry that national public relations organizations, local ad clubs, and local business communicator chapters are entrants.

Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
