The Executive Summary for the 2010 National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey is now available on the Odyssey website.

The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) has collected all the statistical data from the 131 total sites. Along with information on the history of Odyssey and Odyssey’s achievements for 2010, a summary of every 2010 event site – including those held at secondary schools – is included in the book.

“The 2010 Odyssey significantly surpassed all goals,” said NAFTC Executive Director and National AFV Day Odyssey Coordinator Al Ebron. “More than 230,000 people attended 131 Odyssey events across two countries, and more than 98 million people were reached through media outlets.”

Plans are underway for the 10th anniversary Odyssey in 2012. The NAFTC has set the bar even higher, anticipating 250,000 attendees at 150 events and more than 100 million people reached through media outlets.

“In the coming months, we will send information to past Odyssey site coordinators on how to participate in 2012 events,” explained NAFTC Odyssey Manager Virginia McMillen. “The 2010 Executive Summary will serve as a valuable tool to the site coordinators when recruiting sponsors and partners for local 2012 events.

“The NAFTC is extremely appreciative to all the 2010 Odyssey site coordinators, sponsors and partners for helping to make it a success,” she added. “We are looking forward to the 2012 event as we continue the journey to energy independence.”
