Katina Sayers-Walker – Curriculum Developer
Katina Sayers-Walker joins the NAFTC team as Curriculum Developer. Katina is a WV native who recently relocated from the Syracuse, New York area. She received her doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction from West Virginia University in 2004. Katina’s background in curriculum is extensive. She has 13 years of experience as a classroom teacher and has taught public school aged-children through college graduate level courses. Her dissertation was entitled, “Viewing themes of teaching and learning with a phenomenological lens,” which chronicles curriculum development through the modern and post-modern era. Although she freely admits she is not an alternative fuels content expert, she credits her knowledge and application of curriculum theories as well as personal teaching and learning experiences for her abilities to succeed at the NAFTC.
Leah Bogdan – Writer/Editor
Leah Bogdan joins the NAFTC as a temporary writer and editor. She recently returned to the Morgantown area after 2 years as an editor/research assistant for Johnson, Bassin & Shaw, Inc., in Silver Spring, Maryland. In this position, Leah proofed and edited material for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment’s Knowledge Application Program. She also assisted with numerous projects and tasks including field reviews, permissions, proposals, and special projects. Leah graduated from West Virginia University in 2002 with a BSJ in public relations and a minor in political science.
